Tydings is pleased to announce that the Bar Association of Baltimore City has recognized William C. Sammons for 50 years of practicing law and serving both the Baltimore legal profession and the community at large.
Diane D’Aiutolo, Tydings Managing Partner, says, “Bill’s leadership within the Maryland legal community, and the firm, is extraordinary. He is an excellent attorney, a wise and compassionate counselor, and a caring mentor for younger attorneys. We are so fortunate that Bill has been an integral part of the fabric of our firm for his entire career.”
Bill graduated from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 1970, clerked for The Honorable William J. McWilliams, Associate Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, and then joined Tydings & Rosenberg LLP as an associate. He climbed the ranks, served the firm as an effective and valued Administrative Partner for many years, and then ascended to the role of Managing Partner, holding that position in the early 2000s. A litigator, Bill has represented clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region including IBM, Mercedes-Benz of North America, AT&T, and TIAA-CREF.
Bill’s valued leadership was not limited to his work at the firm. He serves as a member of the Peer Review Panel of the Attorney Grievance Commission and as a trustee and life fellow of the Baltimore Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Bar Association of Baltimore City. He is also a Fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the Maryland Bar Foundation.
Bill has been recognized by Martindale Hubbell, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers of America, Maryland Super Lawyers, and the Baltimore Business Journal as one of the top 25 lawyers in the Baltimore area in its “Who’s Who in Law” issue.
