Tydings is pleased to welcome Stephen B. Gerald and Fernando D. Kirkman to the firm. Steve joins as a bankruptcy/creditors rights partner and Fernando as an associate in the commercial and business litigation practice group. They are both based in the firm's Baltimore office.
For more than two decades, Steve has focused his practice on helping businesses protect against, prepare for, address, and mitigate the impacts and implications of financial distress, whether their own or that of another party with which they do business or otherwise encounter in a commercial setting. His clients span jurisdictions across Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, where he is licensed to practice. Additionally, Steve is a Chambers-ranked attorney and Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Fernando builds his effective written and oral advocacy upon impressive problem-solving skills, meticulous preparation, and fierce determination. He brings considerable litigation acumen to Tydings, which he gained from his prior firm, and as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Alexander Wright and the Honorable Irene Berger. Fernando earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
"We are delighted to have Steve and Fernando join the Tydings team," said Diane D'Aiutolo, the firm's managing partner. "The breadth and depth of Steve's bankruptcy knowledge is an immediate asset to our clients. Fernando's litigation experience will allow us to meet our clients' growing legal needs. Adding these two talented attorneys complements our thoughtful growth strategy."
