During the first half of 2024, Tydings secured several notable successes for our clients. These achievements reflect our strategic approach and unwavering dedication to top-tier representation for the clients who trust us to handle their legal matters. From securing favorable motions in complex litigation cases to winning decisive verdicts in high-stakes trials, our team has consistently delivered results that protect and advance our clients' interests.
In a premises liability case before Judge Fletcher-Hill, Casey Brinks and Gregory Garrett obtained summary judgment for our clients on the grounds that the plaintiff failed to produce sufficient evidence of a dangerous condition.
Zachary Jones and Scott Patrick Burns won a motion to withdraw from a pro bono case handled by an attorney who is no longer with the firm. This was significant for the firm, which maintained that it could not ethically oppose the defendants' motion to enforce a settlement agreement that our client had accepted.
In other successfully argued motions, Meaghan Farnham and Daniel Katz secured the dismissal of a count for negligent hiring. Casey Brinks and Scott Patrick Burns obtained a dismissal of a pharmacy mis-fill case on the grounds that the plaintiff refused to answer discovery.
Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya of the D.C. federal court recently granted a nearly year-old motion for summary judgment that Casey Brinks and Diane D'Aiutolo wrote for our client in a contentious, hard-fought premises liability case. The case involved a fall on salt laid down to prevent falls, and the motion was a complicated romp through Daubert, expert testimony, and D.C. premises liability law.
